Francesca Giordanino, violino

Francesca Giordanino started taking violin lessons at age 8 under the guidance of Mestro Lucio Liviabella. She gratuated brilliantly at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Accademy of Music in Milano, in Giovanna Polacco's class, a former pupil of Maestro Paolo Borciani, first violin of the famous Quartetto Italiano.

During the years of the musical education she was in contact with some major international young orchestras, such as the "Orchestra dei Giovani del Mediterraneo", the "Junge Osterreichische Philharmonie", the "Mather Orchestra" and the "L'Ecyo". In March 1997 she took part in the Radio Popolare program "Mattinata" and in June of the same year she performed the Prokoflev Concert no.2 in Re Minor accompanied by the "I pomeriggi Musicali Foundation" Orchestra.

While still very young she matured numerous valuable experiences in the domain of chamber music, among which it is worth mentioning her performance at the XIII Triennal of Cremona Lutery as first violin of the Quartet of the Milan Academy of Music. Ad a member of the Hemiolia Trio she attended the Chamber Music Superior School at Duino with the "Trio di Trieste" and also was awarded a Diploma of Merit at the courses of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. She distinguished herself in several major international contests (Kawai Prize, Thalberg Prize etc), and in numerous concerts in many italian towns such as Fermo (Gioventù musicale), Trieste (Politeama Rossetti Theater), Todi (Teatro Comunale), Florence, Naples etc.

As a solist she brilliantly attained a diploma at the end of the three year violin high specialization course at the "R.Romanini Foundation" in Brescia, under the skilled guidance of Dora Schwarzberg, who was her master also at the Summer masterclasses in Hwar (Croatia) and in Goslar (German y". She merited some glowing comments from Dora Schwarzberg who defined her as a "violinist talent" and "an important italian musician". She further pursued her specialization under the guidance of Maestro Frischenschlager at the "Mozarteum" in Salzsburg and the Summer Academy in Semmering (Vienna) thanks to the support from the well known "De Sono" music association in Torino which garanted her a fellowship for her artistic merits.

Francesca Giordanino performed in many italian and European cities: in Milan at the European Festival in memory of Giorgio Strehler; the "Amici del Loggione del Teatro alla Scala"; the "Amici della Musica"; "La società dei concerti"; in Torino (Santo Spirito Church); Brescia (San Carlino Theather); Stresa (Gioventù Musicale); Imola, Santander and Ljubljana for the Emilia-Romagna Festival; in Roma (Argentina Embassy); Catania (Musica Estate); Pesaro (Palazzo Ducale); Cesena (Teatro Verdi); Alcamo (Amici della Musica), Salzsburg (Wiener Saal) accompanied by several pianists such as Cristina Carini, Ivana Manzella, Monica Cattarossi and Chiara Bertoglio.

She recently added to her traditional activity new experiences of a different cultural origin by mastering the argentine reperoire in collaboration with pianist Irene Aisemberg, with whom she attended some tango courses in Turin and Macerata: the Duo was rewarded with precious words of appreciation directly form Astor Piazzolla's wife and received an ever increasing favourable acknowledgements both from the audience and from the critics. Her keen interest in tango was the reason for her artistic collaboration with the famous "bandoneista" H.U.Passarella, with whom she recorded che CS "Mas allà du tango" thus offering an excellent example of her personal captivating interpretation.

Since 2006 she has been playing Second Leader with the Symphonic Orchestra in Rome where she has had the occasion to work with conductors as Julian Kovatchev, Luc Baghdassarian, Ola Rudner and soloists as Boris Belkin, Shlomo Mintz, Aldo Ciccolini and many others.
